This controls the primary orientation of the device when your Hype is being played. Is your Hype designed to be played in portrait or landscape?
How should the image adjust when switching between landscape and portrait? You can chose here to crop the image or have it expand to fill the screen. How these options work will depend on the Primary Orientation.
This setting controls what type of canvas, or ground, the Hype will have. There are 3 options for the Type of Canvas your Hype can use:
The Infinite Plane is flat and stretches on endlessly in all directions. By default new Hypes created using the blank canvas templates will have an Infinite Plane canvas.
The Empty Canvas will have no bottom. Objects with dynamic physics will fall endlessly unless they are stopped through other means.
The Heightmap Canvas creates hills based on a noise map. The Heightmap Canvas is not endless, it will have outside edges beyond which there is no ground.
When selecting Heightmap additional options will be exposed under the Details tab.
The heightmap will be based on on a black and white noise map that determines the distribution of height in the terrain. These options allow you to adjust the noise map as well as how the heightmap will translate it into terrain.
These parameters allows you to adjust the size of your heightmap and the height of the hills.
These parameters will allow you to scale the noise map which will adjust the width and length of the hills in the Hype.
These parameters let you further adjust the noise map to adjust the distribution of hills in the heightmap.
This will set an overall power for Gravity in the Hype. This will affect all physical objects with dynamic physics. Negative values will pull objects towards the ground, positive values will pull objects up into the sky. Gravity can be further manipulated for individual material types in the Physical Material settings.
This slider will determine where the World Bottom of your hype is placed based on global Y coordinates. The easiest way to adjust the world bottom is to set the Canvas Type to Infinite Plane and slowly drag the slider up and down. You will be able to see the ground rise or lower based on the inputs. Even if your Canvas is set to Empty the location of the World Bottom may still be relevant if you are also using Destroy Out of Bounds. The height of the Heightmap will vary with the lowest points of the heightmap being the value set by this parameter.
With this option turned on objects that fall below the World Bottom will be automatically destroyed.
With this option turned on players will need to tap the screen once before the Hype starts. With it off Hypes will start automatically once they load.
Material Settings can only be applied to the Heightmap. The Empty canvas has no material and the Infinite Plane ground color will be determined by settings found in Visual Materials>World. With these two options you can select visual and physical materials for the Heightmap from the Hype's library of materials.
